Why iPhone stud finder apps do not really work

A phone detects studs by reading its magnetometer (the compass sensor) to find the metal screws and nails inside a wall. Android lets apps read that sensor. iOS does not expose the magnetometer to apps in a way that supports reliable stud detection, and Safari blocks it on the web entirely.
